Instructions for using home teeth whitening (home bleaching)

 

·        Home teeth whitening is one of the whitening methods that gives distinctive results.

·        The instructions below are some tips to follow during the home bleaching to get the best results:

·        Make sure your teeth are clean with floss, brush and toothpaste before starting the whitening process

·        Make sure your teeth and trays are dry and clean

·        Place a small amount of bleach in the tray on 8 or 10 front teeth and remove the excess after placing the tray.

·        Do not overfill the whitening trays with gel as this may cause gum irritation.

·        Use the tray daily for the period determined by the doctor according to the concentration of the bleaching agent.

·        If you feel sensitivity in your teeth you can use whitening intermittently (day after day).

·        If complications or irritation appear in the gums you should remove the tray immediately and contact the doctor.

·        Do not eat, drink or smoke while the whitening trays are in place.

·        After finishing, brush your teeth well and clean the trays with a brush.

·        Store the material and the trays in a cool and dry place.

·        The doctor determines the period of use of whitening which will range from 10 to 14 days. It may vary according to the nature of your teeth and the extent of their staining.

·        Postpone any (non-emergency) dental treatments for two weeks after the whitening procedure.
